Les Amis de Bibliothèque et Archives nationales du Québec (ABAnQ) is an association formed in keeping with a longstanding tradition in the public museum and library communities in Europe and in North America.
This non-profit association, created in 2005 shortly after the opening of the Grande Bibliothèque, aims to support BAnQ's activities and help spread its influence in Montréal as well as throughout Québec.
The association has adopted the following objectives:
Activities
Book club
Share your impressions or opinions and compare your reading experiences with those of other book lovers.
Writing workshops
Whet your creativity and foster your spontaneity. Our writing workshops will allow you to give free rein to your imagination.
Guided Tours
Take part in guided tours of BAnQ exhibitions, facilities and collections, and of other institutions.
Book fair
Every year, Les Amis de BAnQ organizes a book sale in the foyer of the Grande Bibliothèque.
Become a member of Les Amis de BAnQ association (french only) to benefit from the activities and benefits offered to Les Amis. You can even become a volunteer if you so wish.
